You’ll start with a plain pine board and prepare the surface with sandpaper.
You can distress the wood if you like (and as much as you'd like!) with various tools like chicken wire; hammers, chains, and more, to give your sign the look of a true vintage antique!
Then, you’ll wipe on stain (the color is up to you) to create a custom “canvas” for your masterpiece.
Next you’ll apply stain or paint with a chippy brush to provide a background color.

Prefer paint Instead of stain? No problem! It’s up to you.
You’ll apply color through a stencil with a foam brush and use an artist's brush to create the detailed design you’ve selected.
We have pre-selected colors that work well together, but you are free to choose your own colors and use whatever technique makes you comfortable!
Finally, you’ll add hardware (if included in the package you selected) and optional elements like ribbon, jute string, and glitter.
